Current Trends And The Impending Healthcare Crisis
It’s no secret that chronic disease is a major driver of cost to our economy.
More than 130 million Americans, or 45 percent of the population, have at least one chronic condition, and almost one in three living with two or more chronic conditions, chronic diseases pose an unsustainable burden on our health care system. It costs us $2.5 trillion annually.(1)

In 1974, 1.1% of Americans were diabetic. As of 2018, 1 in 10 Americans are diabetic. At the current rate, the CDC forecasts that number will be 1 in 3, or maybe even 1 in 2 by the year 2050. (2) Chronic disease is rampant in the United States.
The point is, our approach to healthcare in this country is not getting better. It’s getting worse. It will bankrupt our healthcare system and our country unless we do something about it.
It is well known that 80% of chronic diseases, like diabetes, obesity, heart disease can be attributed to lifestyle, and can be avoided. But no-one realizes they’re really sick until it’s too late.
We need to change our mindset. From going to the doctor to get a quick cure for a symptom of what ails us—to getting to the root cause of our ailment, changing our behaviors one small step at a time, addressing the root causes of our ailments, and getting and staying healthy.
At the same time employers, and our healthcare system, needs to shift their model from paying to treat sick people to investing in keeping people well.
That’s why we created the Restora Health Plan. To help individuals and employers take small proactive steps towards wellness—so you can go from feeling sick and frustrated to feeling healthy and in control.
Our plan also includes benefits that give you the access you need when you need it, without having to wait in a line to see a doctor.

Each year, it seems like you trade higher and deductibles for lower premiums with fewer benefits… just to feel “covered.”
But are you really “covered” if you’re paying higher co-pays and never even meet your deductible? When that happens, don’t you have a nagging feeling like you’re throwing money out the window?
Well that’s exactly what you’re doing when you opt for Conventional Health Insurance. You’re paying for convenience. Higher premiums for lower co-pays and a lower deductible.
The truth is there are always options. The three best choices in regards to health care coverage are:
Option #1 – Conventional Health Insurance
You know this game, and it is expensive. You pay a lot. And you don’t get much. There is typically no plan or health coaching to help you get and stay healthy.
Option #2: Health Sharing
Health Sharing is one of the best kept secrets in America. There are about 10 health sharing companies out there and it started with the Amish and Mennonites who ‘bearing one another’s burdens’, and who got exemption from the ACA penalty. So it is legal with no penalty. They are all similar but here is an example of one health sharing company. A family of 5 can have coverage for $1 Million per incident for $500 a month with an annual share amount (they can’t call it a deductible) for just $1,750! Compare that to traditional insurance at $1,500 a month and a $10,000 deductible!
Option #3: Indemnity insurance
This is for healthy people who want some coverage ‘just in case’. For example, a healthy 35-year-old female can get $15,000 of critical illness coverage (like an appendicitis), $15,000 accident insurance (like a broken leg), and $500 of hospital recovery for a month for just $67 a month! And the deductible is only $100. Prices will vary depending on the specifics, but this is a good ballpark figure. And a person can choose higher amounts of coverage for very low pricing, too. They may want $25,000 of critical illness and $25,000 of accident and it would still be very inexpensive. This is now a real option for many Americans.
If you look at the graph it’s clear. When you pay for conventional health care, you’re paying more for less. You are paying for reactive sick care. And trading high-copays for lower premiums, or vice-versa. You can’t win.
But insurance alone is not going to cut it. None of these plans work by themselves, because none of them work to help you or your employees get any healthier. It needs to be augmented with a pro-active health management plan to make it work for you (and your employees if you’re an employer).
When you’re healthy it opens up lots of savings opportunities.
Through our partners, we offer a health insurance solution that fills the gaps that allow you to create your own benefit plan using health management + health sharing + indemnity insurance, or with a worst-case scenario a health management + indemnity insurance.
So that’s what’s happening in the healthcare industry in the next 30 years. And that’s why it’s critical to take steps now towards getting and staying healthy.
If you follow our plan, not only will you have your health, which is really the most valuable thing you possess, it opens up a world of money saving opportunities to cover yourself and your family (and your employees if you’re an employer).
